At least 92 people have been killed when a tanker exploded in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. Dozens of people were also seriously injured, authorities have announced. The number of victims is expected to increase further.
The explosion happened last night in a suburb of the capital of the West African country. The truck collided with a bus at a busy intersection.
People then tried to get fuel from the truck, which then exploded. The fire also set neighboring buildings on fire.
Images from local media show that heavily charred bodies lie in the vicinity of the truck. Rescuers are still looking for more victims today, the Red Cross said.
