Casey Stoner present in Portugal ahead of MotoGP Algarve 2021. One of the things he discussed was the question of Valentino Rossi.
MotoGP 2021 will be Rossi’s final season in the grand prix motorcycle world championship. The Doctor, who is now 42 years old, has announced that he will retire after the season ends.
It will also officially end an era, considering that Valentino Rossi’s long career has resulted in nine world titles in grand prix motorcycle racing — including seven in the premier class.
In his long career, Rossi has had a number of fierce competitions with various rivals. Casey Stoner is one of them.
However, that is a story in the past. As he gets older, Valentino Rossi is rarely present in the front row in the competition for victory. In MotoGP 2021, his best achievement is finishing eighth.
Casey Stoner, a two-time MotoGP world champion, commented on this fact, who had already retired at the peak of his glory after the 2012 MotoGP.
“For me racing is about winning. I can still accept that sometimes I don’t win, but at the same time the reason I wake up in the morning to race is to win,” he said in a MotoGP release.
“And I would be very excited if I can’t be competitive up front, so I miss seeing Valentino up front.”
“If I’m not mistaken, you know, over the last two or three years, I would love to see him competing with other riders. The race would be even more extraordinary if that happened. As was the case in the season before that,” he said.
