The world’s first USB-Cs iPhone for sale

The bids on eBay are constantly rising, they have already offered more than 24 million forints.

Last month, Ken Pillonel, a Swiss student of robotics, came up with a DIY project to turn an iPhone X into a USB-C port. He recently decided to sell it on eBay as part of an auction.

The amount of bids is constant rise, the bids have already exceeded 24 million forints. For that, the bidder gets a used, redesigned 64GB iPhone X with no accessories. Pillonel does not recommend using the device on a daily basis anyway.

The project is open source anyway, and all instructions are available on GitHub – so anyone has the option to build a USB-C into their iPhone. Pillonel says he’s experimenting further and would also build a USB-C port into his AirPods.
