The announcement came shortly after a date set for the resumption of nuclear talks between Tehran and other world powers.
“The Islamic Republic has so far produced 25 kilograms of 60% uranium,” said spokesman for Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Behrouz Kamalvandi on Friday (11/5/2021).

He asserted, “Except for countries with nuclear weapons, no other country is capable of producing this much.”

Kamalvandi’s revelations come just days after Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani, said Tehran had agreed to restart negotiations in Vienna on November 29, 2021.

The statement was confirmed by the EU’s external action body shortly after.
