With an innovative project, Disabled Aid Offenbach in Hainburg is creating living space for people with disabilities. The residential building with single rooms and apartments is being built next to the Tabaluga daycare center, on the edge of a residential area directly on the edge of the field, which is followed by the extensive Hainburg recreation area.
The future residents look forward to moving into the house. Two of them, Renate Sand and Susanne Caspers, took a look at their new home with the house manager Susanne Hahn.
With twelve rooms and eight apartments, the residential building offers space for 20 people with intellectual disabilities. All rooms and apartments have their own bathroom and can be furnished according to your own ideas and taste. There are also two places for short-term living.
Susanne Hahn explains what is special about the Hainburg residential building: “We can offer the residents very individual support here. From tailor-made offers in your own apartment with support only where it is necessary, to comprehensive care in the living group with daily structure, follow-up and care. A special feature of the apartments is the spatial separation from the rest of the shared apartment. That means more independence if the residents don’t have to go through the common area of the residential facility to get to their apartments. ”Of course, all residents are always welcome in the common rooms and during the activities of the residential groups. Furthermore, the people who live in the apartments are of course available around the clock, if necessary, explains Susanne Hahn.
“I’m really excited,” says Susanne Caspers. She is particularly pleased with the location: “Here I can go for a walk in the fields.”
Renate Sand originally comes from the region and currently lives in the Offenbach residential complex. After moving into the Hainburg residential building, Renate Sand will be able to see her sisters, who live near the new residential area, more often and without complicated journeys. The Hainburg residential building is expanding the range of accommodations for people with disabilities in the region.
