Outgoing cabinet sees no reason for national data center strategy – IT Pro – News

the 836 million per year that we allocate for what you call net receivers is a pittance of what we miss out on, for example, with taxes on energy in large industry.

Citizens and SMEs pay the maximum rate, while we only consume 13% of the entire pie.

The energy tax for households more than doubled between 2009 and 2019 by 136%. Households pay relatively much more energy tax than large consumers. Heavy industry (steel, oil refining, chemicals) is largely exempt from energy taxes and excise duties for sectors such as aviation and shipping. This exemption ensures that the industry has little incentive to reduce its emissions.

Emissions from heavy industry and aviation and shipping increased significantly, while emissions from households and many SME sectors fell sharply.

Those are the wealthy, those are the polluters. But in the meantime there goes 7 billion from our money to the polluting industry causing it to patch the holes -> our tax money to disguise big industry problems

In short, it is time that we no longer place the burden on citizens and SMEs, but that the real polluters who have been structurally kept out of harm’s way pay.

And then you, you worry about that one 836 million?
