It is difficult to imagine that the outgoing Guillaume Kasbarian (LREM) is not invested in a constituency where no one seems able, at LREM or other satellite movements of the presidential majority, to challenge his legitimacy, built on a dense parliamentary activity, notably marked by his status as rapporteur for two bills.
In front of him, the parliamentarian LREM should find a candidate invested by LR, for a possible revenge of 2017, after his duel won in the second round, against Franck Masselus (LR).
Suspense at LR
Two potential candidates seem to stand out in the ranks of the local right. That of Ladislas Vergne (LR), deputy mayor of Chartres, who would have the favors of the departmental federation. But also, why not, that of Karine Dorange (LR), another assistant to Jean-Pierre Gorges, member of the close guard of the mayor of Chartres.
On social networks, the elected official went to fire for the first time, against the outgoing deputy and his hostile position to the A154 motorway project (our edition of October 24). An initiative that is similar to the founding act of a possible candidacy, which could suit the Chartres municipal majority, by checking the complex equation of respect for gender parity, in a department where potential candidates labeled LR do not are not legion.
Property tax and third round of departmental
The score of Eure-et-Loir Écologie, which will invest a candidate, perhaps Quentin Guillemain, leader of the opposition in Chartres, will be one of the challenges of the ballot. After the municipal and departmental elections, where the ecological movement has more than resisted the right-wing majority, will the legislative elections confirm the local breakthrough of political ecology?
In a territory where Chartres Métropole has implemented, this year, an additional tax of 7.5% on built land, very unpopular in certain rural municipalities, a dissident candidacy, labeled “anti-tax”, cannot be ruled out, as during the departmental. The field campaign promises to be harsh for the candidate LR, in these territories insurgent against the fiscal policy of the agglomeration. But also in the Eure valley, where the dissidence of elected officials in the Department favored the accession to the presidency of Christophe le Dorven (LR), to the detriment of the candidate of the Chartrains, Claude Térouinard.
And to the left…
On the left, Stéphane Cordier, departmental boss of the PS, seems, as in 2017, the best placed to embody the hopes of socialist reconquest. As for the RN, if it promises to appear on the starting grid, it should not weigh in a constituency whose sociology is unfavorable to it.
