Washington – China has significantly accelerated the expansion of its nuclear arsenal, according to the US armed forces. This could mean that China could have 700 operational nuclear warheads by 2027, according to the Defense Department’s annual report to Congress on China released on Wednesday. “The People’s Republic of China likely intends to have at least 1,000 warheads by 2030.”
