Pedro Proença, president of Liga Portugal, asked the Government for “answers and decisions” in a message on social media, published on the same day that the President of the Republic announced that he will dissolve the parliament.
The leader recalls that there are several proposed measures that are waiting for an answer. «As much as we try to do and arrange ways and mechanisms to support our Sports Societies, I believe that it is extremely important to have the support of the Government, as well as responses to the proposals that Liga Portugal presents, such as the creation of tax conditions in headquarters of VAT, IRC and IRS (…)», he appealed.
The president of the League also added that professional football has been marginalized: «I once again warn that football, despite being an industry with a strong contribution in terms of taxation to the country, and having enormous international recognition, it is placed on the margins in the most different quadrants. The ‘crisis’ of answers and solutions is an issue that the Government has not been able to decimate in professional football.”
