From November 15, musician Kārlis Kazāks will become the director of the Latvian Radio 5 program, informs Latvian Radio public relations specialist Liene Pālēna.

From mid-November, Kazaks’ responsibilities will include managing the “pieci.lv” radio station and planning its development, as well as guiding the team to implement the tasks of the youth multimedia platform.

Sanita Dika-Bokmeldere, a member of the Board of Latvian Radio on program development issues, expresses satisfaction with Kazak’s joining the Latvian Radio team. “His professional experience in both administrative positions and creative industries will be a significant addition to the development of the Latvian Radio 5 program and reaching the right audience,” says Dika-Bokmeldere.

Kazaks has a master’s degree in engineering from Riga Technical University.

The director of the Latvian Radio 5 program has been selected through an open competition. The current director of the station’s program, Ilva Milzarāja, resigned at her own request in September this year.
