Daniel Špinar, the acting director of the National Theater Drama, made a surprising statement on social networks. He realized that he was not gay, as he had long identified, but that he felt like a heterosexual woman.
On Tuesday, Daniel Špinar, director and acting artistic director of the Drama of the National Theater, confided a novelty on his personal life on Facebook. “I’m not gay, but a heterosexual woman. It took me a long time to get to it and admit it,” Spinar described.
“I have a difficult period of transition ahead of me, but I finally feel right and my whole life has fallen into place,” confided the director of Drama ND, indicating that he was considering a gender reassignment.

The information that he identified himself as a heterosexual woman was confirmed by ŠpinWith TN.cz and by phone. “I confirm this to you, I wrote the status on Facebook and it is valid. I put it out for my bubble so that it knows what I am currently in, and I will not comment on it further,” he told TN.cz.
“I’m going through a period I need to devote to myself now. Before I sort out my thoughts, it’ll be better for me to keep it all to myself. When I’m in a state where it’s somehow more comparable, I’ll go out more.” added Špinar.
On Facebook, he also thanked his family and loved ones who already know about his step. He also thanked the student initiative No You Must Endure, which has long spoken of as yet unproven sexism at the DAMU department. “Without these brave students, the whole self-acceptance would certainly have taken me much longer,” he said. Of the celebrities, he is not the only one who feels that he was born in another body. Abroad, for example, actress Ellen Page announced this change last year. Her breasts have already been removed and she has been renamed Elliot Page.
Špinar has been the director of drama since 2015. In agreement with the director of the National Theater, he will end two years before his term expires.
