The Atlanta Braves won the 2021 World Series by beating the Houston Astros in six games. In this way, the Braves got their fourth Commissioner’s Trophy, this time led by a pitching that put out one of the best offenses in the American League.
The previous three were achieved in the 1914 seasons, by defeating the Philadelphia Athletics, 1957 the New York Yankees, and 1995 the Cleveland Indians.. For their part, the Astros are left with only one World Series in their showcase, the one of dubious provenance in 2017.
Hardly any team will surpass the 27 championships held by the New York Yankees or the 11 held by the St. Louis Cardinals in the near future. After them, the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics are tied with nine each.
The San Francisco Giants have eight, Los Angeles Dodgers have seven and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds have been victorious in five World Series.
