CEZ bought the complete telecommunications business Innogy

The energy company Innogy is ending its telecommunications business. It sold its complete assets in this field to Telco Pro Services, which is a member of the ČEZ Group. This follows from the information published in the Commercial Register.

On November 1, Telco pro Services became the sole owner of Innogy TelNet Holding, through which Innogy used to purchase local Internet providers in the past.

Innogy entered telecommunications in 2018when it bought the first three local operators. At the time, the company was talking about becoming a strong telecommunications player offering digital services.

According to data from Innoga’s annual report for 2020 even two years later, Innoga’s telco activities consisted solely of operating these three operators. “Further acquisitions of telecommunications companies are under negotiation,” the company said.

This year, ČEZ announced large investments in its optical network and offers end customers services under the ČEZNET brand. The group as well buys a local provider. In September this year, Telco Pro Services announced commissioning of its optical networks in part of Karlovy Vary.

We are finding out more details.
