Thalien has put the C’Chartres BM right side up

The bad spiral is broken. After two setbacks against Boulogne (82-87) and Mulhouse (96-81), the C’Chartres BM returned to the front line, this Tuesday, November 2, against the Pôle France and took the opportunity to review its record in the positive (5V, 4D).

premium Sébastien Lambert, coach of C’Chartres Basket Masculin before the reception of the Pôle France: “Find a positive energy”

But the formation of Sébastien Lambert, who made it turn by offering for example his first minutes in N1 to Antoine Fardin (2 pts), was not completely convinced. If the victory, wide enough in the end (84-63), never seemed to be able to escape her, she sometimes had trouble imposing her law on the minots of Insep as she had been able to do in previous years with a few river scores.

3 point demonstration

It took an exceptional performance from Thalien (28 pts), well supported by Ucles (12 pts) and Green (8 assists) for the CCBM to remain fairly calm. With his hand boiling, the leader of Chartres has investigated the trifle of nine 3-point baskets on eleven attempts (81.8% success). Perhaps a record in the division… Phenomenal!

It was he who allowed Chartres to take the lead after a first quarter played too dilettante by his team. It was he who prevented a Pôle France led by Rupert (18 pts) and Penda (16 pts and 8 rebounds) from really coming back into the match in the second period.

Sébastien Lambert’s reaction

The proteges of the duo Lamine Kébé – Cathy Melain, without their leading scorer Melvin Ajinça, remained on the bench, overall offered a good response to the Euréliens. They picked them cold early in the game. In these ten minutes, it is not Noah Penda, the second player in the pool B of N1 who showed himself the most despite two interceptions. But the energetic Rayan Rupert.

The son of the late Thierry, ex-international tricolor, and the brother of Iliana, Olympic bronze medalist in Tokyo, split by 7 points. It allowed Pôle France to count up to 6 lengths ahead (10-16, then 16-22).

The CCBM, surprised, gave a boost to turn things around with a 7-0 in less than sixty seconds including a furious dunk from Green (23-22). Faced with a Pôle France which suffered defensive pressure from Clerence, Mukuna and others, he then escaped with the start of the Thalien festival: four long distance baskets in four minutes. At the break, Chartres was on the right track (41-30).

+9 to 6’40 from the end

But the little guys from Insep have not given up. Several times, always with Penda but also Pichard, they came closer to less than ten lengths of a sometimes laborious CCBM (43-35 then 61-52). The case was therefore not folded at the start of the last quarter.

At 6’40 from time to time, the gap was only +9 (65-56). This is where Thalien took matters into his own hands for a cannonball final and an 84-63 success, the biggest gap of the match.

We will certainly have to do more on Friday November 5 in Lyon with the leader, who fell 79-71, this Tuesday evening, in Boulogne…
