A successful blood donation drive at Leconte de Lisle high school – LINFO.re

The BTS communication of the Lycée Leconte de Lisle carried out its first action of the year by collaborating with the EFS for the organization of the blood collection within the school complex. A fundraising which met with great success on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 October and which delighted the EFS.

The BTS communication very committed!

It has now been over 32 years that the 1st year students of the BTS communication of the Lycée Leconte de Lisle have collaborated, at each start of the school year, with the EFS for the organization of two blood drives among the young adults of the establishment.

Completed in just 45 minutes, one donation is enough to save 3 lives. With only 4% of Reunionese who donate blood, the EFS is communicating this year around the urgency to donate because blood reserves are at their lowest.

The 1st year students of the BTS communication therefore took the organization of this event to heart and were very active in making the operation a success: creation of a poster focused on the urgency of giving, distribution of flyers, display of banners. on the crossing points of the three high schools of the school city, and novelty this year, the creation of the BTS Instagram and Facebook pages to reach their target.

A record broken for this first collection

The Lycée Leconte de Lisle is a very important collection point for the EFS because the number of new donors is much higher than in other places. This year proved it again with a broken record: 61 new donors, a real success!

The students animated the two mornings of collection, went to meet the young adults, ensured the reception of the donors with the team of the EFS. Their donation awareness speech, despite the current health context, obviously worked well because a total of 118 people showed up in the high school conference room. 31 young people could not donate blood after examination by the medical team, but the EFS left delighted by this generous youth, with 87 bags collected (against 63 bags collected in February 2021) and this magnificent list of new donors , not to mention the pledges for the February 2022 fundraiser.
