Luca Marini and Ducati’s Entry to MotoE: ‘Maybe after my MotoGP career I can do a few laps there’

Ducati announced on the sidelines of the Emilia-Romagna GP that from 2023 they will be the exclusive supplier of the MotoE World Cup, replacing Energica. The decision was welcomed by Luca Marini, one of the riders who rides the Borgo Panigale factory motorbike in MotoGP.

Addressed at a press conference with Ducati’s move, the VR46 rider Avintia stated that the manufacturer wanted to be present in something that could be the future… and did not close the door on trying MotoE bikes in the future:

“I thought it was good. I don’t know if electric motors will be the future, but they certainly can. That’s why they want to be prepared, they want to be there. This is a good opportunity. I am open in this aspect, I already have an electric car and it is fun to drive. Maybe good… maybe at the end of my MotoGP career I can do a few laps there.”
