As a boomerang, speculation has returned that the famous studio id Software is preparing a new part of the series Quake. Or the return of another famous brand. Where does this belief of fans come from? Dallas studio looking for new employees and mentions in several positions that the person in question will work on a long-term iconic FPS, which should include a sci-fi and fantasy environment. That in itself was enough for the community to point the finger at Quake, although in the case of this mix you have to think mainly about the very first part.
It is important to remember that the legendary FPS have more id Software in their portfolio. But Wolfenstein is not much fantasy, with a few exceptions, and especially the sequel to the Swedish studio MachineGames. The last Doom with a subtitle Eternal Like the previous part, they are directly responsible for id Software, but it was only released last year, which fans don’t think much of. AND Rage 2 entered the market in 2019 and its development was led by the Swedish team Avalanche Studios with the help of id Software. Heretic or Hexen would be nice too, but sci-fi doesn’t fit there again.
The last contribution to this brand is the multiplayer event Quake Champions from 2017.
Quake celebrated its 25th birthday this year and we had this occasion release of remaster lähde: Nightdive Studios. Next year marks 25 years since the release of the second volume, and the brand clearly deserves a sequel. Quake 4 was released in 2005, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars two years later and the last contribution to this brand is the multiplayer event Quake Champions from 2017. But we would definitely like to all play a single. Accompanied by, of course, inflated classic multiplayer.
It is worth noting that the new Quake is not coming for the first time. It has been speculated about repeatedly and possibly in connection with the MachineGames team. After all, it cannot be ruled out that he is doing several studies on it at the same time. But it could just as well have been a misunderstanding in previous cases, and insiders could point to a remaster released in the meantime, to the content of which MachineGames only contributed their own episodes.
