Since May, the cultural workers in Bavaria have been able to get started again. The OVIGO Theater was already in the starting blocks with the “time travel” – guided adventure hikes with drama. For more than five months, the theater played in the Obermurach, Thanstein and Silberhütte locations.

At the end of the grueling season, the theater makers draw a strong balance: a total of 2622 visitors flocked to 112 “time travel” dates. 53 actors or tour guides were involved.
Kids special and horror special
Obermurach with its imposing Murach Castle drew 1,199 guests on 49 dates under its spell. For the first time there was the tour “Schrazeln, Hoymänner und der Wilde Hans” in three versions – as a classic “time travel”, as a kids special and as a horror special.
The brand new guided tour to Thanstein Castle with the title “Of robber knights and gunslingers” also has 49 performances and 1,070 visitors. The longer and more exclusive new “journey through time” to Schellenberg Castle – “Through the border forest to the granite giants” – booked 14 appointments and 353 guests.
“The tours were always sold out,” says OVIGO’s artistic director Florian Wein. “We had 57 regular and 55 booked performances.” The feedback was fantastic. And it is also clear: “Time travel will return to all locations in 2022.”
German-Czech “time travel”
Innovations are also planned: “Some of the tours are getting a few upgrades. A kids special is also planned for Thanstein, ”says the OVIGO boss. In addition: The OVIGO Theater is currently planning another huge project for 2022. At four different border towns (Stadlern / Schönsee, Bärnau, Waldsassen, Selb) a German-Czech “time travel” piece is to be created, which is to be implemented with German and Czech actors.
The OVIGOs are looking for actors and tour guides from Germany and the Czech Republic who would like to take part in this “time travel” project. Then the OVIGOs would also like to announce the other pieces for the new year.
