At G20, Ebrard gets international support for universal vaccine recognition

The chancellor Marcelo Ebrard stressed that during the G20 Summit conducted in Italy, received the support of various nationals to achieve universal recognition of all vaccines against Covid-19.

At a press conference after the closing of the event, he explained that despite the arguments there are several countries that do not agree on the issue, but he explained that when presenting the proposal, China, India and Indonesia supported the above.

“There was cordiality, although not everything is always simple, for Mexico it was successful because we raised in various forums the need to accept all vaccines approved by the WHO and that we have no difference in criteria regarding inequality in access to biologicals, “he pointed out.

The Foreign Secretary pointed out that the G20 members set a goal to vaccinate 70% of the world’s population against Covid-19. He argued that for this reason, the approval of all biologics is crucial.

“There is a big difference in the vaccination averages of all the countries, because some do not have access to them and others have had access to those that are not recognized by the WHO, so if we are going to have a differentiated policy, why do we have to the WHO analyzing the biological ones, if each country is going to do what it wants ”, he explained.

Ebrard Casaubón reported that he also held a meeting with the director general of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who pledged to work towards the recognition of vaccines Sputnik V and CanSino, whose creators have already delivered the required documents for that to happen.
