Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
The government loosens the rules for people who want to travel with aircraft. The easing of the rules was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy on Monday (1/11) yesterday.
The easing was carried out by removing the obligation for passengers to show a negative Covid test result using the PCR test method. Muhadjir added that passengers are only required to show a negative COVID result by using the antigen test method.
He added that the policy change was made at the suggestion of the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian.
“There will be changes to the trip, namely the Java-Bali area. Air travel no longer has to use a PCR test, but only an antigen test. The same applies to areas outside Java and non-Bali,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transportation said it could not confirm when the easing of the rules would take effect. Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said that her party was still waiting for the rules to board the plane without having to take a PCR test, which was planned to be stated in the instructions of the minister of home affairs and the circular letter (SE) of the Covid-19 Task Force.
“We are waiting for the determination through the Ministry of Home Affairs and the SE Task Force, as has been the reference so far,” he told CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (1/11).
