David Oberhauser makes his comeback with the Garnets. Former Metz between 2014 and 2017, the goalkeeper trained at AC Ajaccio had been playing for a season at Puy Foot 43 in National 2. He will notably find Lenny Joseph, transferred this summer from the Auvergne club. The 30-year-old goalkeeper initialed a two-season contract and is therefore bound until June 2023. If he started in N2 with two clean-sheets in four matches, the native of Bitche could well return to the lawns of Ligue 1 this season. Last season, he notably demonstrated all his qualities “largely participating in the epic of the 2020-21 edition until the round of 16 and the elimination of FC Lorient (L1) in the round of 16 at Stade Massot (1-0 victory).”
Already appeared in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2
Last bulwark of experience, David Oberhauser has the privilege of having been able to evolve in the highest French division where he has five appearances. At the lower level, he also took part in forty-two meetings. Passed by the Romanian championship in 2013-2014, then Greek in 2017-2018, he then returned to France at Gazélec Ajaccio, then in Ligue 2. He then took over the management of Red Star in the summer of 2019 before joining Le Puy Foot. At FC Metz, he comes to strengthen the post of goalkeeper and will compete with Alexandre Oukidja, Marc-Aurèle Caillard and Ousmane Ba.
“The entire Puy Foot 43 would like to thank David for his investment and professionalism since his arrival, despite the complicated situation due to the health context. We would like to wish him success at FC Metz in Ligue 1, a club that ‘he has already rubbed shoulders between 2014 and 2017 and where he will meet his teammate from last year, Lenny Joseph, also left for the Moselle side this summer “, commented Les Ponots.
