The Oviedo City Council check out the rest for the ninth edition of the White Night, which is celebrated in the city next Saturday. In just eight hours, more than a hundred artists will launch 43 activities in 40 different places, many of them not usually accessible or not at all accessible. And among all the proposals that have been programmed, the recital that he will offer at the Auditorium “Príncipe Felipe”, a living legend of Spanish poetry, the Cervantes Prize Antonio Gamoneda, who at 90 years of age will be accompanied by the band, the “Delta Galgos”, while reciting poems from his work “Castilian Blues”.
Another activity of impact will be the recovery of one of those illustrious spaces of the city, inaccessible in other conditions for the citizen. The Councilor for Culture, Jose Luis Costillas, announced in the presentation of the White Night the opening of the doors of a historic building in the city, the former headquarters of Banesto, on the street of Marquis of Santa Cruz, on the corner with Cape Noval. There, from nine o’clock at night the audiovisual show will take place “Electronic banking”.
Another audiovisual show in the Basilica of saint john, or a recital by the soprano Mar Moreno in the hall of Campoamor Theater, anticipating some arias from the upcoming opera season title –The magic Flute– are other attractive offers from the more than fifty program activities. White night, which will begin mid-afternoon with activities for children and will continue until well into the morning.
