The bad patch continues for Stade Malherbe. The Caennais lost 1-0 at the Stade Michel-d’Ornano against Grenoble during the 14th day of Ligue 2.
In a dull first period on each side, Caen seemed a little better in the game than his opponent but gave in on a header from Monfray on a corner (44th) just before the break. The defender got rid of Oniangué’s marking.
Grenoble hits the bar
Forced to push to get back to the score, Stéphane Moulin’s men never proved dangerous enough to shake the nets of Maubleu. It is even the Isérois who have created the best opportunities, forcing Riou to several parades and even touching the bar with Henen (77th).
Grenoble had not won away for ten matches. The Caen bring their streak to five games without a win at home and had to endure the whistles of their supporters at the final whistle.
With this defeat Caen goes down to 12th place in Ligue 2 with 16 points, just behind their opponent on the 11th day with 18 points.
