Rolls-Royce Ghost also gets a dark side

Those who do not wish to drive in a chic, but darker and more sporty Rolls-Royce could already opt for the Black Badge version in the case of the Dawn, Wraith and Cullinan. The British car manufacturer now also presents this variant on the brand new Ghost, the ‘Loafer’ of the brand.

Customers who order the model can choose from no fewer than 44,000 colors, but the majority of buyers choose ‘just’ for the dark ‘Black’. That is what this car(s) is all about: no chic and classic design, but a much darker coat. It is a beloved outfit, because 27 percent of buyers today opt for such a Black Badge version.

New calibration

Those who go for a Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge not only get a dark, but also a more powerful car. The mighty 6.75-liter V12 gets – almost traditionally – 29 hp and therefore delivers a sloppy 600 hp. The Black Badge also has a higher torque, 900 instead of 850 Nm. As a result, the Ghost sprints to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, to a limited top of 250 km/h. The new calibration of the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, the four-wheel steering and the chassis components also ensure that the car reacts faster and more directly to the driver’s input.

Rolls-Royce does not think about model under the Ghost

The Black Badge is standard on unique 21-inch wheels. Not just the first and best footwear, because they are made up of no less than 44 layers of carbon fiber. Of course, the Rolls-Royce logo on the wheel hub always remains upright, even while driving. The Pantheon Grille and Spirit of Ecstasy also have a dark finish for a sinister look. About that dark paint: it weighs a total of 45 kilos (!). The beautiful interior of the Ghost also has a dark appearance in the Black Badge, but of course the customer is king and the personalization options are virtually endless.

Rolls-Royce reports that the new Ghost Black Badge can be ordered immediately. What the sinister version The exact cost in our country is not yet known. In the case of the Dawn, the price difference with the regular version is about 60 grand. A regular Ghost is available in our country from just over 400,000 euros.
