Radio UV launches Voices of the pandemic – El Democrata

Xalapa. The Radio Department of the Universidad Veracruzana (Radio UV) produced and will broadcast a series of capsules on the living conditions of the population in the 18 months that the Covid-19 pandemic has been stationed in Mexico.

The series has the support of the Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Sabin Institute and its producer is Brisa Gómez, who applied and obtained the support of the institutions in a public call.

The production consists of nine capsules that compile the voices of experts in health, communication, tourism, migration, education, as well as survivors, who will share their testimonies. The Thomson Reuters Foundation accompanies the performance with tutorials by Inés Guzmán.

The transmission of these capsules will take place from Monday, November 1, through the UV Radio signal, on FM 90.5, at 8:15 and 15:30 hours. In addition, they will be published simultaneously in the account of Spotify of the station.

Among the expert voices that will be heard in this radio series are academic staff of the UV, who through the research work they carry out and the lines that they follow in different observatories dependent on this house of studies, will talk about what has happened in the last 18 months.

The call for applications to be part of this exercise ended in August, and the producer was selected to participate in the course that took place during September, taught by journalists Inés Guzmán and Mónica Vargas.

The final product of this course is the series that talks about what has happened in terms of tourism, mental health, changes in the way of studying, the triple virtual journey that women face, the immunization of the population, the infodemic and other topics.
