This nurse from the Lyon region certainly did not expect to receive such a letter. She even believed in “April 1”. A few days ago, Caroline Mennessier received in her mailbox an invitation to an evening, on November 19, with “medal presentation”, in recognition of her work and her attachment to the Protestant Infirmary, the establishment of Caluire-et-Cuire (Rhône) in which she has worked for twenty years, report Progress and The Saône-et-Loire newspaper.
Problem: the 46-year-old nurse was suspended on September 15 for lack of vaccination against Covid-19, as required by the law of August 5 relating to compulsory vaccination for health personnel. “I wondered whether to laugh or cry. I said to myself: no, it is better to laugh about it. It looks like April 1,” she confided in the columns of the regional daily. A reward that the forty-something had obviously not requested.

Although surprised by this invitation, the nurse intends to honor it by going to her old clinic on November 19. And Caroline Mennessier, who is going to prepare “a nice little speech”, intends to take the opportunity to plead her case, by addressing her professional situation. Since her suspension, the caregiver has turned to the interim to continue earning a living. For the anecdote, on the mail, it is not at all indicated if the entry to this evening is subjected to the presentation of the sanitary pass.
