The Price of the Crypto ‘Squid Game’ Is Raging, Here’s the Beginning

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The popularity of the Squid Game series from South Korea produced by Netflix seems to be endless. Most recently, this series has even entered and is influential in the world of cryptocurrency.

Recently a crypto token named SQUID, has entered the cryptocurrency market. Its value even rose to more than 60,000% in less than a week.

In the report usatoday, according to CoinMarketCap, the SQUID token was worth US$0.01 cents on Tuesday and immediately rose to US$6.27 on Friday morning. This means that this figure has increased by 62.6600%.

For information, the storyline of the Squid Game series features contestants who play a children’s game, but with a more lethal version, to win cash prizes at the end of the game.

Just like the storyline, SQUID tokens follow the same rules, where players will go through six online games to win prize money, the difference is, of course here it doesn’t involve deadly games.

“No more dystopian world where a mysterious organization gathers people who have huge amounts of debt and live on the brink. Everyone here in the crypto world can participate in Squid Game with associated SQUID or NFT tokens in our marketplace,” says the project white paper.

However, it is known that the price to enter this game continues to soar. Game 1 of this game previously had an entry fee of US$ 4.56 or required 456 SQUID tokens when first launched. However, now the price has swelled to more than US$1,500 on Friday (29/10) morning. While the entry fee for the 6th or last game is more than US $ 50,000.

CoinMarketCap appeals to all parties, before buying SQUID tokens, users should ensure that they cannot sell tokens on PancakeSwap, a popular place where many people exchange tokens.

“This project, while clearly inspired by the Netflix show of the same name, cannot possibly be affiliated with the official IP,” they said.
