The return to classes next Tuesday, after the pedagogical leave decided by the supervision, will have to be marked by a new disengagement movement. The Cnapeste intends, in fact, to maintain its planned strike every two days a week.
The National Autonomous Council of Teachers in the Education Sector (Cnapeste) had decided, at the end of the ordinary National Council of the union held on October 15 and 16 in Boumerdès, to resort to the strike movement two days a week, starting from the first week of November.
Following this decision, the Minister of Education called for dialogue. Done since the latter had received, last Sunday, the general secretary of the Cnapeste union, Messaoud Boudiba. However, this same trade unionist affirms at the end of the meeting that the strike movement will be maintained.
At the end of the meeting which brought together the union and representatives of the ministry, the Cnapeste therefore decided to maintain its strike of two days a week, decided for the first week of this month of November.
Indeed, the union formation called on its members to observe the strike movement on Tuesday and Wednesday next. This strike movement will be accompanied by other organizational actions.
The responses of the guardianship do not seem to convince the Cnapeste
For the first day of the strike, the teachers are called to hold general assemblies and the second wilayas councils in anticipation of the holding of a national council scheduled for next Thursday and Friday.
Moreover, the second day will be devoted to the debate on the content of the minutes of the meeting which brought together members of the union and representatives of the Ministry of Education. This famous report contains the demands of the union and the responses provided by the supervisory authority.
Concerning the demands of the Cnapeste, they relate generally to the question of purchasing power, access to housing, the retirement file and that of social works … During the meeting, the representatives of the supervisory authority believe that the question of purchasing power was already supported by the government.
The same goes for the retirement file, considered by the Ministry of Education to be a file common to all sectors. To cite just that, it is clear that the standoff is constant, hence the continuation of the cyclical strike of two days a week.
