NENT enhances reality by offering a deal on NBCU Hayu content – TBI’s Vision

Nordic Entertainment (NENT) will present a series of reality shows to its subscribers once it has reached a Multi-year distribution agreement with NBCUniversal OTT Hayu.

The Viaplay service will be available to subscribers in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania free of charge from autumn 2021, becoming the first Hayu platform partner in Poland and the Baltic States.

The Hayu Show includes more than 1,000 series of reality shows, such as following Kardashiana Under the deck a Real housewives privileges. Most of Hayu’s new shows will be shown on Viaplay on the same day they air in the US.

Filippa Wallestam, head of NENT’s content division, said the deal reflected the ability of reality to “provide emotion, drama and fan loyalty that competes with content in any category”.

Hendrik McDermot, Managing Director of Global Direct-to-Consumer, Hayu, added: “Europe remains at the heart of Hayu’s current growth strategy, and this exciting partnership with the NENT Group, our first platform partner in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, makes it easier for Viaplay subscribers to access Hayu’s comprehensive ad-free offer of the best US reality content.
