At the Chartres media library, children learn to code!

Adèle and Oscar have their eyes riveted on their computers at the media library. The two cousins apply themselves to programming the hero of the video game they are creating: a bat that must escape a bell by moving from left to right. They are supported by Vincent Richer, digital manager of the Apostrophe, who coordinates this workshop at the media library.

For three years, every short school vacation, it has offered children from 7 years of age to learn about programming. Objective of the workshop, Wednesday October 27: create your video game using Scratch software.

The Apostrophe media library introduced children to programming and code by offering them the opportunity to make their own video game.

“We want to allow children to learn programming through video games and simple software” explains Vincent Richer. The workshop begins with a presentation of the programming. “The code is like a language with a set of sentences and instructions to follow”, summarizes Vincent Richer. First step, create your character and allow him to move in the decor thanks to the writing of simple lines of codes.
