Not everyone is willing to forgive Morgan Wallen … The country music star has been excluded from the American Music Awards, even though he has the potential to win two awards.
–
Thursday’s awards show announced that Morgan was banned from attending this year’s fair due to video showing him using the n-word. Representatives of the program said, “Because his behavior does not align with our core values, we will not include him in the program in any way.”
–
Here’s the thing, though … AMA nominees are determined by a performance on the Billboard charts, and despite the backlash against them for most of the year, Morgan’s album has dominated sales. That is why it is still a candidate for 2 AMAs: Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Artist.
–
It’s unclear how award producers will handle the event that Morgan is likely to win one or both of the two categories. Remember that winners are determined only by fan votes … and we know Morgan fans have. I stood firmly behind him All year.

Morgan has issued an apology, AND interview with GMA in July saying he was working on himself. WADA representatives say they will “evaluate your progress in doing meaningful work as an ally of the black community and consider your participation in future actions.”
–
The Country Music Association also invited Morgan. Both prize offers will be reduced next month.
