The offers for the sale of trams, which were received by MPK in Wrocław, are for the amounts higher than the carrier intended to spend, but not enough to decide about the cancellation of the tender. Two producers are competing for an order from Wrocław. Now offers worth several hundred million zlotys are assessed from the formal point of view.
On Thursday (October 28), MPK Wrocław opened offers in a tender for the purchase of 24 low-floor trams with the possibility of extending the order by another 16 vehicles.
Pesa Bydgoszcz offered PLN 204 million for 24 trams and PLN 338 million for 40 trams. On the other hand, Modertrans in Poznań expects PLN 222 million for the delivery of 24 vehicles, and if the city wanted to extend the order by another 16, it would have to pay PLN 368 million. MPK originally intended to allocate less than PLN 202 million for this order, now it points out that the price is only 49 percent of the offer evaluation criterion.
“The others relate to the warranty period, noise level, axle load, tram equipment, floor inclination or the number of seats available from its level” – informs Krzysztof Pieszko from MPK.

Trams are to be entirely low-floor, air-conditioned and equipped with noise reduction modules. The manufacturer who receives the contract will have to deliver the first tram within two years of signing the contract. The last vehicle will arrive in Wrocław after 3 years and one month at the latest.
