Aker BP with huge result – announces billion dividend

Kjell Inge Røkke’s oil company made very good money on oil and gas.

Aker BP earned $ 1.56 billion, or NOK 13.16 billion, in the third quarter. That is NOK 3.7 billion more than in the same time period last year.

The company pays a dividend of NOK 949.5 million for the quarter. At the same time, Aker BP announces that they will pay a dividend to shareholders of NOK 1.26 billion in the fourth quarter of this year.

Kjell Inge Røkke’s oil company had initially planned to pay dividends worth NOK 3.8 billion for the year. However, on 27 October, the board decided to increase the dividend for the year by a further 316.5 million in total.

– The combination of good operational performance and higher oil and gas prices contributes to a strong financial result, concludes Aker BP CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik in a stock exchange release.

The company produced 210,000 barrels of oil equivalents every day throughout the quarter. This is an increase from 198.6 barrels in the corresponding period last year.

Aker BP paid 596 million dollars in taxes, or five billion Norwegian kroner. This is an increase of 50 percent in the tax payment from the third quarter last year.

Doubles the result

Kjell Inge Røkke’s oil company delivers an operating profit of 1.25 billion dollars – which is more than double from the previous year. Aker BP notes a net profit of $ 206 million.

Røkke owns 68.2 percent of Aker ASA, which in turn owns 40 percent of Aker BP.

Sky-high prices

Today, a barrel of fuel oil costs $ 83 a barrel. Aker BP’s realized oil price during the quarter was $ 71.5 per barrel.

The average realized gas price was 91 dollars per barrel of oil equivalent. This is a doubling from the corresponding quarter last year.
