The rest of the negotiators, including the indirect talks between the US and Iran, still need to confirm their return to the negotiating table.
“We agree to start negotiations by the end of November. The exact date will be announced within the next week,” Ali Bagheri tweeted.
He said that he “had a very serious and constructive dialogue … on the main elements of successful negotiations.”
The EU and world powers are trying to get talks in Vienna aimed at renewing the 2015 agreement following the election of Iran’s new president, Ebrahim Raisi.
Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahyan said Tehran would “assess” the results of the Brussels meeting before setting an exact date.
An agreement between Iran and world powers to find a lasting solution to the crisis over its controversial nuclear program has been frozen since former US President Donald Trump pulled out of the deal in May 2018 and imposed massive sanctions.
Current US President Joe Biden has said he is willing to renegotiate the deal, provided Iran fulfills key preconditions, including full compliance with the terms of the deal, which it has repeatedly violated by ramping up nuclear activities since the US withdrew from the pact.
Negotiations in Vienna through mediators did not move forward, after which they were interrupted by the election of Ebrahim Raisi as President of Iran and suspended for the last four months.
