The Israeli authorities will announce on November 15 that all those who have been vaccinated with the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine will also be recognized as having been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to the Jerusalem Post newspaper.
However, these tourists will be required to take a serological test and pass the pre-flight and post-flight PCR test on entry into Israel.
The decision to recognize “Sputnik V” was made on Tuesday at a meeting of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett with senior health officials, the newspaper said.
A few days before the meeting, Bennett met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
One week ago, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that only those who had been vaccinated with vaccines approved by US, European Union or World Health Organization regulators would be allowed to enter the country.
None of these bodies has yet been approved by Sputnik V, recalls the Jerusalem Post.
