Juventus again failed to win in the Italian League. Bianconeri lose 1-2 to Sassuolo through goals in injury time.
Juventus vs Sassuolo took place at the Allianz Stadium, Thursday (28/10/2021) early morning WIB. The Old Lady fell behind in the first half to a Davide Frattesi goal.
Juventus’ hard work to tear the new Sassuolo goal paid off in the 76th minute through Weston McKennie. Sassuolo then managed to bring home the three points in injury time through Maxime Lopez’s goal.
This result makes Juventus temporarily down to seventh position in the Italian League standings with 15 points from 10 matches. The Bianconeri had previously failed to win due to a 1-1 draw with Inter Milan. Sassuolo move up to ninth with 14 points.
The course of the match
Juventus pressed Sassuolo in the first 10 minutes. Two shots were fired in that time through Federico Chiesa and Danilo, but neither was on target.
Sassuolo even almost tore the Juventus goal in the 18th minute. Domenico Berardi fired a shot from the corner of the box, the ball headed towards the far post and was saved by Mattia Perin.
Juventus vs Sassuolo duel slowly began to unfold. The two teams took turns attacking each other.
Paulo Dybala penetrated into the Sassuolo penalty box in the 25th minute. Dybala had a late shot so the ball was quickly cleared by the Sassuolo defender.
Dybala almost tore the goal of Sassuolo in the 37th minute. His hard shot from outside the penalty box hit the goal post.
Sassuolo managed to take the lead from Juventus in the 44th minute. Gregoire Defrel handed the ball to Davide Frattesi, who went into the penalty box. Frattesi then calmly scored to put Sassuolo 1-0 up until halftime.
Juventus tried hard to find an equalizer in the second half. A Paulo Dybala shot in the 58th minute still couldn’t tear the Sassuolo goal after the ball was secured by goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.
Kaio Jorge almost tore the goal of Sassuolo in the 70th minute. The Old Lady’s new player met Dybala’s cross with a bicycle kick, but the ball slightly deviated from the target.
Juventus could finally equalize the score to 1-1 in the 76th minute. Weston McKennie scores after heading home from Dybala’s free-kick.
The attacks continued to be launched by Juventus in the remaining time. Through wing play and a stab into the middle of the field, Juventus still failed to penetrate the Sassuolo penalty box.
Sassuolo managed to steal the win in injury time. Through a counter-attack, Maxime Lopez brought the Neroverdi to win 2-1.
