The museum building was designed by Spanish architect Juan Herreos, and its concept was “a room for all”. It has a spacious lobby, a cinema, auditoriums, a shop, a restaurant and, of course, galleries with about 26 thousand Munch works of art. In addition to paintings familiar to art lovers, many drawings, manuscripts and personal belongings are also on display. The museum staff emphasizes that it is one of the largest collections of works by one artist in the world, and Munch definitely deserves it.
Born in 1863, the artist raised the profile of Norway, is considered one of the creations of Expressionism, but “Scream” has become one of the best-known visual art motifs in the world.
