Swiss companies produce new combat clothing for the armed forces – TOP ONLINE

The companies Altra Management AG (textile) from Mitlödi GL, E. Schellenberg Textildruck AG from Fehraltorf ZH, AG Cilander from Herisau AR and Schoeller Textil AG from Sevelen SG, such as the Federal Office for Armaments ( Armasuisse) announced on Tuesday.

In addition, two further European suppliers from Belgium and Italy are commissioned. A significant part of the added value thus remains in Switzerland, since the production companies carry out work steps such as weaving, printing and coating themselves. The public tenders for the manufacture of the various items of clothing with the camouflage fabric are planned for this year.

Orders for protective vests and hydration systems went to SSZ Equipment AG in Zug and Seyntex NV from Belgium. The drinking system, which consists of a water bag, drinking tubes and various connecting pieces, is also manufactured by the Zug company.

Rucksacks and bags

According to Armasuisse, the carrying system, which includes small bags, rucksacks, a vest and a hip belt, is still in the evaluation phase. The public invitation to tender has been issued and the award of the contract is planned for the end of 2021.

The MBAS project includes the procurement of new combat clothing and carrying systems as well as a drinking system and ballistic body protection in two versions. The army members should be equipped with modern equipment so that they can perform their services, as Armasuisse wrote. Parliament approved the loans for a procurement volume of 348 million francs with the 2018 Army Embassy.
