The long-distance train is also known from the novel “Murder on the Orient Express” by Agatha Christie from 1934. On the way from Istanbul to London, the luxurious train runs aground in the snow in Vinkovci, Croatia. There a murder is committed on one of the passengers. Work to be done for Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot.
The book has been successfully filmed twice: in 1974 directed by Sidney Lumet with Albert Finney in the role of Hercule “I take a professional interest in crime” Poirot, and in 2017 with Kenneth Branagh as director and lead actor.
