MOSCOW – Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) Russia on Monday (10/25/2021) handed over a protest note to the German military attache. The protest was related to comments by Germany’s defense minister about the need to block Russia’s nuclear capabilities.

“The Russian Ministry of Defense said it summoned German diplomats and paid attention to comments by German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer on Russia’s nuclear deterrence, and that a note had been submitted,” the RIA news agency reported.

The move is the latest sign of rising tensions between Moscow and NATO after defense ministers from the Western alliance approved a new plan on Thursday to defend against potential Russian attacks on multiple fronts.
