Official: AIK has finished with new CEO

Björn Wesström has previously announced that he will leave AIK at the turn of the year. It is now clear Manuel Lindberg, who today works as club director in Brommapojkarna, replaces Wesström and takes over as new club director and CEO of AIK.

– I am extremely happy and honored to come to Allmänna Idrottsklubben. I look forward to leading the work of developing AIK Football to become even better, both outside and on the football field. AIK Football is an important player in society and I see great potential in developing the club both in terms of elite and broad activities, says Manuel Lindberg in a comment on the club’s website.

Manuel Lindgren will take up his new position during the first quarter of 2022.

– In Manuel Lindberg, we get a confident and experienced person who can lead AIK Football to the next level. Manuel has the right experience with a mix of positions of trust in sports and football as well as from commercial business development. We have had a solid and systematic recruitment process with many very strong candidates, says Robert Falck, Chairman of the Board of AIK.

Manuel Lindberg, 48, has since 2019 worked as club director in Brommapojkarna. The 48-year-old has previous experience as President of Tourism Group International and CEO of Amesto Translations.
