Last week, Baneheia convict Jan Helge Andersen (40) questioned as a witness in the new investigation of the Baneheia case.

Now Viggo Kristiansen has also been questioned. The interrogation lasted two days, Friday last week and today, Monday.

– I can confirm that an interrogation has also been carried out with Viggo Kristiansen, but I have no comments beyond that, says public prosecutor Andreas Schei at the Oslo public prosecutor’s office to VG.

Kristiansen’s lawyer, Arvid Sjødin, also confirms to VG that they have been questioned.

– Viggo is now on his way home and is satisfied with the job the Oslo police have done. Beyond that, we have no further comment, says Sjødin.

In 2000, eight-year-old Stine Sofie Sørstrønen and ten-year-old Lena Sløgedal Paulsen were found raped and killed in the hiking area Baneheia in Kristiansand.

In 2002, Andersen was sentenced to 19 years in prison in the Agder Court of Appeal. In police interrogations and in two courts, Andersen confessed – and at the same time pointed to Viggo Kristiansen as the initiator and main man behind the crimes against the two underage girls.

Viggo Kristiansen was sentenced to 21 years in custody, but has in all years denied criminal guilt. In February this year, the Readmission Commission decided that the criminal case against him should be reopened.

The Oslo Police District has since been responsible for the new investigation of the Baneheia case.

Even though Andersen and Kristiansen have now been in police interrogation, it may be relevant with more interrogations over time. This summer it was too taken new DNA samples by both Kristiansen and Andersen as part of the new investigation.
