Alec Baldwin has met the husband and son of the camerawoman he accidentally shot and killed on Thursday. Halyna Hutchins, 42, was fatally shot in the chest when Baldwin fired a weapon which he thought was uncharged.
Baldwin has visited Matthew Hutchins and his 9-year-old son at the hotel in Santa Fe where they are staying, according to American media. in pictures can be seen how they take a walk together and Baldwin hugs the two emotionally.
It was not disclosed what the three were talking about. A day after Hutchins’ death, Baldwin announced that he was cooperating with the police investigation and that he was deeply saddened by her death. “I have no words to convey my shock and sadness,” he wrote in a statement.
“I don’t blame Alec Baldwin for this,” Hutchins’ father told the press this weekend. “It was the responsibility of the people in charge of the weapons.”

Indeed, the police investigation is currently focusing on the two individuals responsible for gun safety on the set of the western Rust: the master of arms and the assistant director. According to the police, the latter, 62-year-old David Halls, handed Baldwin the fatal weapon, saying that it was “cold‘, so not loaded with sharp cartridges or blanks.
Halls had previously been careless with the safety protocols on film sets, pyrotechnician Maggie Goll told AP news agency. He would be with the recordings of the series Into the Dark skipped the mandatory safety meetings in 2019. In an interview, Gutierrez recently admitted to being nervous about her job. “I almost didn’t take the job because I wasn’t sure I was ready. But it all went smoothly.”
On the set of Rust however, would have accidentally set off weapons twice before. On the day of the accident, seven crew members left the set in protest at the conditions on the film set.
The production company behind the film says it has not been aware of any complaints but will start an internal investigation. No one has yet been charged for the fatal accident.
