1. Bernard Arnault
Bernald Arnault is a French conglomerate with a net worth of USD 196 billion or equivalent to IDR 2,767 trillion (assuming the current exchange rate is IDR 14,120 per US dollar). The 72-year-old man built his luxury business empire that includes many well-known brands such as Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Tag Heuer, Sephora, and Christian Dior whose share price has surged by 30% this year. The jump in share prices, LVMH recorded a market value of USD417 billion. Earlier this year LVMH also completed the acquisition of jewelry company Tiffany & Co for $15.8 billion.
2. Jeff Bezos
Amazon boss Jeff Bezos was previously the richest person in the world for the fourth year in a row, but has now been replaced by Bernard Arnault. The drop in earnings resulted in Amazon’s stock dropping 7% in a day. This resulted in Jeff Bezos incurring losses of $ 14 billion in 24 hours. Jeff Bezos’ net worth is currently estimated at $186 billion.
3. Elon Musk
Currently, Elon Musk’s net worth is $160 billion. This amount is thanks to the increase in Tesla’s shares by 705%. Musk was previously ranked as the 31st richest person in the world, but now he has managed to occupy the 3rd position of the richest person in the world.
