A Hellblade its developer, Ninja Theory, has released a behind-the-scenes video of its upcoming horror game Project Mara, which focuses on developing an impossibly realistic in-game staircase.
In the behind-the-scenes video of Project Mara, Ninja Theory ”the most realistic video game ladder of all time”- even by re-creating the stairs in the mo-cap studio.
To be clear, the clip is more about developers making the most seemingly realistic step up in terms of performance; that is, the movement of the characters going up and down the stairs, and the physics of the stairwell under the weight of real people. Nonetheless, the stairs – and the whole apartment – look incredibly good, even from a purely graphic standpoint. Ninja Theory immersed itself even more in this side of the spectacle in a stunning trailer in January.
„after the Project Mara we built his hyper-realistic apartment in-engine, in our studio we re-created part of the main staircase in the apartment from inch to inch”Can be read in the caption of the video. “Coupled with our virtual production stage, this hair-set has been captured for the most realistic and authentic display possible..”
