The President of the Republic spoke by telephone with the President of the United States of America, Mr. Joe BIDEN. In the spirit of their conversation of September 22, 2021, the two heads of state took stock of the work undertaken between France and the United States to guarantee confidence, meet the challenges of today, in particular the establishment of a stronger European defense, complementary to NATO and contributing to global security. They welcomed the good progress of this work and agreed to deepen the dialogue and cooperation between the two countries on the occasion of a meeting they will hold in Rome where they will both be present for the summit. of the G20.
