The autumn storm that ravaged Europe on Thursday led to four people lost their lives in Poland, and hundreds of thousands of homes in France, Germany and the Czech Republic were without electricity.
Now the storm has calmed down in most places, but Germany has a red warning for wind in the next few days. Red danger warning means that the weather is very dangerous. It reports the British Meteorological Institute, Meteoalarm, on its websites.
– Major injuries and accidents are likely, and in many cases there is danger to life and limbs, the meteorologists write on their websites.
The warning applies to the Harz district in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, and the Bergland mountain range.
The British Meteorological Institute asks the population to be aware of the following dangers:
– Trees can be uprooted and roots can be damaged. Watch out for falling branches, tiles and other debris. Make sure all doors and windows are closed. Secure outdoor objects and stay away from buildings, trees, scaffolding and high voltage power lines. If possible, avoid living outside, writes Meteoalarm.
Fine weather Saturday for the lucky ones

Warns against bomb cyclone
– Powerful and harmful
Meteorologist at the Meteorological Institute, Anne Solveig Andersen, tells Dagbladet that in the autumn strong low pressures can form which lead to such autumn storms occurring.
– There is a large temperature difference between south and north, and here low pressure can be formed which, among other things, can cause strong and harmful winds, says Andersen.
In France, the danger warning has now expired, but the low pressure still gives a lot of wind in Europe, the meteorologist says.
– The storm was now moving east and here the danger warnings still apply, says the meteorologist.
