JAKARTA – Shocking news came from the daughter of the proclaimer, Sukmawati Soekarnoputri. This news is related to religious matters. Sukmawati decided to convert from Islam to Hinduism.
The news was confirmed by the Head of the Sukarno Center in Bali, Arya Wedakarna. He said that he was currently in the process of a series of religious conversions.
“He (Sukmawati) decided right at the age of 70 on October 26 tomorrow. To his grandfather’s religion, Bung Karno’s mother Ida Ayu Nyoman Rai Srimben. He decided to return to Hindu Dharma,” Arya said when confirmed by MNC Portal Indonesia, Friday (22/10/2021).
In the invitation received, the ritual procession of returning to Hinduism will be held in the Sukarno Heritage Area of the Cultural Heritage Site. This place is the home of the mother of the first president of the Republic of Indonesia.

Although he did not know the reason behind his decision, Arya admitted that he often saw Sukamawati attending Hindu religious ceremonies.
In addition, Arya ensures that Sukmawati’s decision has received permission from her three children. In fact, this decision has also been conveyed to the Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“Including Megawati Soekarnoputri, Muhammad Guntur Soekarnoputra and Muhammad Guruh Irianto Soekarnoputra,” he concluded.
