WhatsApp tests better picture-in-picture function

WhatsApp now has an improved in the beta version picture-in-picture modus for videos that users share online. This feature allows you to play videos shared from another platform without having to close your chat on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp beta users can now click a link in a conversation that goes to a video on another social media platform. The video will then be played in miniature with a PiP function in WhatsApp. The PiP function can be used for both chat and video calling on the app.

In the control bar you can now quickly pause or resume the clicked video. Previously, you had to click full screen or close the video to do this. At first the control bar was only visible on videos that came from YouTube, but now it seems that it is now for all videos. The control bar will be located below the video. Picture-in-Picture mode is only possible with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, ShareChat and Streamable.

Even more features for WhatsApp

WhatsApp is also working on other features to improve its platform. For example, WhatsApp is now working on a function to pause voice recordings and will you like the app too multiple devices can use.

Currently, this feature is only available to users of beta version 2.21.22.3. It is not yet known when the feature will be available to everyone.
