Grillroom Cairo on the Wilhelminastraat in the center of Katwijk has to close at midnight on the orders of Mayor Visser.
Due to the corona measures taken by the national government, the catering industry has to close at 00.00. Grillroom Cairo may still remain open at that time for the collection of products. This makes it the only catering business that is still open after 00:00 in the entire center. This has a great attraction for the catering visitors who are put on the street at that time.
As a result, disturbances arose in the weekends before the case in September, during which the Mobile Unit also had to take action. During the first two weekends of October, the grill room voluntarily closed at midnight on the night from Saturday to Sunday at the request of the mayor. There were no disturbances on those nights.
The mayor has now decided that, in order to maintain public order, the grill room must be closed from 00:00 until the end of the month in the nights from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday.
